CARPET to know more

It is by living in Morocco for several years that we discovered the richness of the art of Moroccan weaving. A real favorite for this country with many facets and we can say it to crazy crafts! We fell in love with the ancestral work of Berber women who often meet and work in cooperatives.
The art of weaving is an eminently feminine work, especially in the Berber tribes. The abstract and geometric language of these carpets is derived from the origin of the body. The diamond is the expression of the woman in Berber symbolism. That's why they are so present in their creations. These rugs tell the story of the women who weave these rugs. Each color associated with a shape has a meaning.

They are from the mountainous regions of the Middle Atlas, They are the most cozy and the hottest.
Knotted by hand, they bring a lot of authenticity and warmth to an interior (which was also their primary function).
100% pure virgin wool they are predominantly white with brown or black geometric patterns (depending on the color of the sheep's head ;-)
They have seduced the greatest, from Klee to Le Corbusier ... Their neutral or vibrant colors, their lines and their imperfections bring a lot of charm and charm to an interior, whether classic, minimalist Scandinavian, bobo chic or very contemporary .
Choosing a Beni Ouarain rug means choosing the king of Moroccan carpets: traditional, design, contemporary but above all timeless!

Azilal carpets are from the region of Azilal at about 1:30 am from Marrakech in the Beni Melal region.
These carpets are woven like Beni Ourain on a base of virgin wool but cut more flush. Women come to add yarns of tinted colors (wool, cotton, or recycled fabrics) to create geometric patterns very colorful or psychedelic.
The bright colors of these carpets bring a lot of cheerfulness, their lightness also makes it possible to hang them on the walls like contemporary paintings.
The Azilal carpet will give a lot of originality and cheerfulness to your interior.

It is a real favorite that the discovery of these beautiful mats Mauritanian. During a stay in the great south of Morocco, we fell under the spell of these carpets, as much by the unique work of braiding, as by their patina and their raw beauty. These carpets symbolize ancestral know-how lost nomadic tribes, where manual labor is an art.
For the record, these carpets were once used by the Tuaregs when caravans stopped between Marrakech and Timbuktu. The Tuaregs had an economy geared towards trans-Saharan trade, which has had an impact on their customs and arts. These mats made during the twentieth century, are braided with materials that women found, namely palm trees, reeds for the base and pieces of goat leather and camel for the decor.
Each piece is unique. The patina of these rugs that have traveled is superb. These very graphic and very refined carpets can be placed inside and outside but also hanging on the walls. They bring a crazy stamp, They are genuine pieces of antiquity, which will enhance with any elegance and character any room.

Hand-woven in the region of Marrakesh or in the south of Morocco while the palm leaves or doum are still green, these mats bring a decidedly bohemian touch or holiday to your decor.

Resolutely more modern, pure virgin wool, but still woven artisanally and manually on looms in workshops in Morocco.
